Three Tips to a Successful Trade Show Presentation

Making a presentation at your trade show exhibit can be nerve-wracking, regardless of whom your audience is. Here are some tips to hopefully help you on your way to a successful presentation.

#1. Know what you are talking about. Knowing all of the information about your company, the product, and your exhibit can make your presentation successful. Be confident in the facts and welcome questions. Exposition venues are usually very loud and crowded, so tune out distractions such as noise and stay focused on what you are saying. If you know all of your information by heart, hopefully you can avoid any awkwardness.

#2. Practice makes perfect. Practicing your presentation beforehand will help you become comfortable with the information you are telling your audience. You can try out different ways to say things until you are comfortable with the answers. You can also have family or friends’ role play with you and ask questions that may arise at the trade show. Make sure your answers are correct and informative. Having background noise may also give you a feel for the trade show atmosphere and you can adjust to speaking so people can hear you. If you are speaking to a very large group of people, you could have a full speech that you can go over and practice.

#3. Be confident. If you don’t believe in yourself, than nobody else will, either. Taking a deep breath and speaking clearly will help your presentation come across well. If you know your facts perfectly and have practiced, then smile and tell the audience what you know. There should be no reason for you to be shy or uncomfortable. You know this stuff, right? Having the knowledge and practice should give you every reason to be confident, and that confidence will shine through your presentation and hopefully catch the audience’s attention and keep it held.

So, in closing, no matter who your audience may be,either a small group or one or two interested people, these suggestions will hopefully guide you on your way to a successful trade show presentation.
